The Real Americana

I worked closely with magazine photo editor Dudley M. Brooks on what turned out to be the last photo issue The Washington Post Magazine would have. We wanted there to be a through line of general photos that fit the theme, and also moments of photos that fit sub themes. As a solution, I relied on different background colours - light blue for the through line, darker colours for the moments - so that it would be clear there was a shift but it wouldn’t be distracting.
